Jeff Ravitz Designs Michael Bublé Live TV Webcast

Visual Terrain partner, Jeff Ravitz, designed the television lighting for the MSN live webcast of the Michael Bublé performance at Webster Hall in New York City, on April 30, 2007.  The show was the official kickoff concert for Bublé’s new CD Call Me Irresponsible.  Control Room Productions of Beverly Hills produced the show.

“It was a totally enjoyable experience,” Ravitz comments.  We worked hand-in-hand with Michael’s tour lighting director, Kurt Wagner, and tour set designer, Tom McPhillips of Atomic Design.  Between us, we managed to get a totally unique production installed and programmed in the course of one day.  Not a schedule I would recommend, however!  Also, my associate designer, Kristie Roldan and I could not have done it without the help of the Webster Hall LD, Luciano Savedra.”

The ten-camera shoot was directed by Kerry Asmussen and produced by Nick Jacobovitz and Aaron Grosky of Control Room.  Emmy winner, Ravitz, has designed over fifteen broadcasts for the producers, all over the world, including Beyoncé, John Mayer, James Blunt, and Rod Stewart.

Ravitz recently concluded shooting a PBS pledge special for Willie Nelson, and another PBS special with Irish choral group, Anúna, as well as broadcasts for Fall Out Boy and Nellie Furtado.  He is a five-time Emmy nominee and has been honored with statues for one Primetime and two regional awards.
